Product Introduction This Series is a high-performance, multi-stage vertical turbine pump designed for efficiently lifting liquids from deep wells, sumps, and underground storage tanks. Unlike other sump pumps, its unique design allows it to generate exceptionally high discharge pressures (high head), making it the ideal solution for deep well water supply, high-pressure industrial transfer, and main firewater pump applications. The Series combines a space-saving footprint with the power to handle the most demanding deep-set pumping challenges.
Design Philosophy & Construction The vertical turbine pump’s design is optimized for lifting fluids from depths that are impossible for other pump types.
- Multi-Stage Pump Bowls: The heart of the pump is the submerged “wet end,” which consists of a series of stacked stages called bowls. Each bowl contains an impeller and a diffuser. As liquid flows up through the pump, each stage adds more pressure, compounding the effect. By adding more stages, the pump can be configured to lift liquid from extreme depths and deliver it at very high pressure.
- Line Shaft and Column Pipe: A long, multi-section line shaft connects the surface motor to the submerged impellers deep below. This shaft is housed inside a large column pipe, which not only protects the shaft but also serves as the discharge pipe, channeling the high-pressure fluid to the surface.
- Surface Drive and Discharge Head: The entire assembly is driven by a standard vertical motor located safely and accessibly at the surface. The motor is mounted on a heavy-duty discharge head, which supports the full weight of the pump column and provides a robust outlet flange for connecting to the system piping.
Key Features & Benefits
- Exceptional High-Head Performance: The multi-stage design is specifically engineered to generate very high pressures, making it perfect for lifting liquids from deep wells or for high-pressure boosting applications.
- Customizable for Any Depth: The pump’s length and the number of stages are fully customizable to meet the exact depth and pressure requirements of any installation.
- Accessible Surface Motor: With the motor located above ground, it is easy to access for routine inspection, service, and replacement without needing to pull the entire pump assembly.
- High Efficiency: Turbine pumps are highly efficient for their designed operating range, leading to lower energy costs for high-head applications.
- Space-Saving Design: Despite its operational depth, the pump requires a very small surface footprint, saving valuable floor space.
Common Applications The Vertical Turbine Pump is the premier choice for deep-set and high-pressure pumping:
- Deep Well Pumping: The primary application for drawing groundwater from deep aquifers for municipal, industrial, and agricultural water supply.
- Firewater Systems: Commonly used as the main pump for fire suppression systems, drawing from a dedicated underground reservoir to supply high-pressure water.
- Industrial Sumps: Pumping from very deep process sumps and underground storage tanks in refineries, power plants, and chemical facilities.
- Raw Water Intake: Pumping large volumes of water from rivers, lakes, and the sea for municipal or industrial use.
- Cooling Tower Basins: Circulating water from deep cooling tower basins.
