Sanitary Single-Screw Pump

Product Introduction

This Series is the hygienic evolution of the G Series progressive cavity pump, specifically engineered to meet the stringent sanitary standards of the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries. It combines the powerful and gentle pumping action of the progressive cavity principle with a design that ensures absolute product purity and cleanability. The pump provides a pulsation-free, low-shear solution for transferring viscous, delicate, and particle-laden products while adhering to strict international hygiene regulations like FDA and 3-A standards.

Design Philosophy & Construction

While the Series operates on the same gentle and efficient rotor-stator principle as the standard G pump, every aspect of its construction has been re-engineered for sanitary service.

  • Hygienic Progressive Cavity Core: The pump utilizes the proven single-helix rotor turning within a double-helix stator to create progressing cavities. This core function is preserved to gently convey the product.
  • Sanitary Materials: All components that come into contact with the fluid (the “wetted” parts) are constructed from certified, hygienic materials. The pump casing and rotor are typically made from polished 316L Stainless Steel, and the stator is molded from FDA-compliant elastomers such as food-grade Nitrile, EPDM, or FKM.
  • Crevice-Free, Polished Surfaces: To prevent bacterial growth and ensure complete cleaning, all internal surfaces are meticulously polished to a smooth, mirror-like finish (e.g., Ra < 0.8 μm). The design eliminates all dead spaces, gaps, and crevices where product could stagnate.
  • Clean-in-Place (CIP) & Sterilize-in-Place (SIP) Design: The pump is designed for easy and effective cleaning without the need for disassembly. Its open-flow path and lack of dead zones allow cleaning fluids and steam to effectively circulate, sanitize, and drain completely.
  • Quick-Disassembly Construction: For inspection and maintenance, the Series typically utilizes quick-release sanitary connections, such as Tri-Clamp® fittings, instead of traditional bolted flanges. This allows for fast, tool-free disassembly and reassembly of the pump head.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Ultimate Product Integrity: The extremely gentle, low-shear pumping action protects delicate products from damage. It can pump yogurts without breaking down the texture, move fruit fillings without crushing the solids, and transfer sensitive cell cultures without harm.
  • Certified Hygienic Performance: The design, materials, and surface finishes comply with the strictest international sanitary standards, ensuring the pump is safe for use in high-purity applications.
  • Reduced Downtime with Efficient CIP/SIP: The ability to be cleaned and sterilized in-place significantly reduces the time and labor required between production batches, maximizing operational uptime.
  • Accurate, Pulsation-Free Dosing & Filling: The smooth, linear flow is ideal for filling applications, ensuring a consistent and accurate volume is dispensed every time, without splashing or aeration.
  • Versatile Handling of Difficult Ingredients: Effortlessly transfers everything from thin liquids to highly viscous pastes, such as tomato paste, caramel, and cosmetic creams, which are common in sanitary industries.

Common Applications

The Series is exclusively used in applications where hygiene and product quality are non-negotiable.

  • Dairy: The preferred pump for transferring yogurt, cheese curds, cottage cheese, cream, butter, and ice cream mixes.
  • Food Processing: Moving sauces, jams, jellies, fruit preserves with whole solids, pie fillings, vegetable purees, meat and poultry emulsions, chocolate, and confectionery.
  • Beverage: Pumping fruit juice concentrates, brewery mash and yeast, wine must, and other viscous beverage bases.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Transferring ointments, syrups, gels, lotions, and delicate biological media in sterile environments.
  • Cosmetics & Personal Care: Pumping creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and toothpastes with consistent texture and quality.
