Vertical Stainless Steel Chemical Sump Pump

Product Introduction The Series is a high-performance vertical sump pump constructed from stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant alloys. It is engineered to safely and reliably handle corrosive chemicals, solvents, and high-temperature liquids from tanks, pits, and sumps. This pump is the ideal choice for demanding applications where the temperature limits, solvent compatibility, or mechanical strength requirements exceed the capabilities of plastic pumps.

Design Philosophy & Construction The pump is designed for robust and reliable service in corrosive environments where metallic construction is preferred.

  • Vertical Cantilever Design: The pump features a top-mounted motor that remains completely isolated from the liquid, ensuring its safety and longevity. A rigid, oversized shaft extends down into the sump to drive the pump wet end. This design completely eliminates any submerged bearings or bushings, which allows the pump to run dry indefinitely without any risk of mechanical damage.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Alloy Construction: All components that come into contact with the fluid (the casing, impeller, shaft, and column pipe) are constructed from high-grade alloys. The standard is Stainless Steel (SS304, SS316, 316L), with options for Duplex Stainless Steel and other alloys for more aggressive chemical combinations.
  • Versatility in Application: The all-metal construction makes the pump perfectly suited for handling organic solvents, hydrocarbons, and other chemicals that can be incompatible with thermoplastics. It also provides superior strength for applications with higher pressures or temperatures.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Broad Chemical Resistance: The stainless steel construction offers excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive chemicals, and is particularly well-suited for solvents and high-temperature fluids.
  • Run-Dry Capability: The true cantilever shaft design without submerged bearings allows the pump to operate without liquid in the sump, preventing damage from fluctuating levels.
  • High-Temperature Performance: Can handle liquids at significantly higher temperatures than pumps made from polypropylene or other standard plastics.
  • Superior Mechanical Strength: The robust metallic build offers greater resistance to pressure, piping strain, and physical impact compared to plastic pumps.
  • Safe and Accessible Motor: The motor is kept high and dry, away from corrosive fumes and spills, and is easily accessible for maintenance.

Common Applications The Series is the preferred solution when a durable, metallic vertical pump is required:

  • Chemical Processing: Transferring solvents, hot chemical waste, and process intermediates from collection sumps.
  • Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical: Handling pure solvents, alcohols, and reagents from tanks.
  • Petrochemical Plants: Pumping waste hydrocarbons, additives, and contaminated water from API separators and sumps.
  • Metal Finishing and Degreasing: Circulating and transferring hot solvents and cleaning solutions.
  • Industrial Wastewater: Pumping mixed chemical effluent streams where solvent resistance is critical.
