High temperature centrifugal pump

Product Introduction The Series is the high-temperature version of our universal ISW horizontal pump, specifically engineered to handle the circulation and pressure boosting of hot water. It features the same reliable, compact, and efficient close-coupled design but is upgraded with specialized heat-resistant components, most importantly the mechanical seal. The pump is a durable and cost-effective workhorse for hot water applications, including boiler systems, industrial heating loops, and water supply.

Design Philosophy & Construction The pump builds upon the proven ISW platform with targeted upgrades to ensure long life and reliability in hot water service.

  • Upgraded for High-Temperature Duty: The key to the pump’s performance in hot water is its specialized components:
    • High-Temperature Mechanical Seal: The pump is fitted with a mechanical seal specifically designed for hot water. It uses heat-resistant elastomers like Viton® (FKM) and durable seal faces like Carbon/Silicon Carbide to prevent leaks and resist the wear and degradation caused by high temperatures.
    • Heat-Resistant Components: Other critical parts, including the motor’s bearing grease and pump gaskets, are selected to withstand conducted heat, ensuring reliable performance in continuous hot water service (typically up to 120°C / 248°F).
  • Proven Horizontal Design: The pump maintains the classic horizontal, end-suction layout. This, combined with the close-coupled (monoblock) construction, creates a simple, permanently aligned, and easy-to-install unit that has been trusted in the industry for decades.
  • Durable Construction: The pump features a rugged cast iron casing and impeller, providing excellent durability for general heating and water supply applications.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Reliable Hot Water Performance: The specialized mechanical seal is the key feature, ensuring a long, leak-free service life when handling hot water, preventing the premature failure seen in standard pumps.
  • Versatile and Economical: A multi-purpose pump that provides a reliable hot water solution without the high cost and complexity of specialized hot oil pumps.
  • Long Seal Life: The heat-resistant materials used in the seal dramatically extend its life and the maintenance intervals of the pump in hot applications.
  • Compact & Proven Design: The close-coupled construction saves space, is easy to install, and offers the proven reliability of the world’s most common pump configuration.
  • High Efficiency: The optimized hydraulics provide excellent efficiency, reducing the energy costs associated with constantly running heating systems.

Common Applications The pump is the ideal choice for a wide variety of hot water transfer and circulation tasks:

  • Boiler Feed and Circulation: Used as the primary circulation pump for hot water boiler systems.
  • HVAC Heating Loops: Circulating hot water for the heating systems in large residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Industrial Process Heating: Supplying hot water for manufacturing processes, such as for heat exchangers or jacketed vessels.
  • District Heating: Used for circulation and pressure boosting in local heating networks.
  • Hot Water Supply Systems: Boosting pressure in industrial and domestic hot water distribution lines.
