Vertical split case pump

Product Introduction The Series is the innovative vertical configuration of our high-capacity, double suction split case pump. This design offers the same exceptional efficiency, reliability, and ease of maintenance as the traditional horizontal model, but in a layout that dramatically reduces the installation footprint. By stacking the motor directly on top of the pump, the pump is the ultimate solution for high-flow water transfer in municipal pumping stations, industrial facilities, and high-rise buildings where floor space is a critical constraint.

Design Philosophy & Construction The pump is engineered to provide high-capacity performance in the smallest possible area, without compromising on serviceability.

  • Vertical Space-Saving Design: The pump’s primary advantage is its vertical orientation. The motor is mounted on a rigid support bracket directly above the pump casing. This arrangement can save up to 75% of the floor space required by a conventional horizontal split case pump, allowing for much more compact and cost-effective pump station designs.
  • Retained Split Case Serviceability: Even in its vertical configuration, the pump retains the key benefit of an axially split casing. The casing is split perpendicular to the shaft, allowing the outer half of the casing and the entire motor/bracket assembly to be removed. This provides complete access to the impeller and bearings for inspection and service without disturbing the main suction and discharge pipelines.
  • Double Suction Hydraulics: The pump utilizes a double suction impeller, which draws water in from two sides. This hydraulically balances the axial forces on the shaft, which ensures smooth, low-vibration operation and significantly extends the life of the bearings.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Massive Footprint Reduction: The vertical design is the ultimate space-saver, making it ideal for crowded pump rooms and new installations where space is at a premium.
  • Maintains Easy Maintenance: The axially split casing allows for quick and convenient servicing of the pump’s internal components without affecting the main piping, just like a horizontal model.
  • High Efficiency and Reliability: The double suction impeller provides excellent hydraulic efficiency and balances thrust for a long, reliable service life in continuous duty.
  • Simplified Piping: The vertical configuration can often lead to simpler and more direct piping layouts, saving on material and installation costs.
  • Elevated Motor: The design keeps the motor elevated and safe from potential minor flooding or spills at the floor level.

Common Applications The pump is the preferred choice for high-volume water transfer applications where floor space is limited:

  • Municipal Water Pumping Stations: Perfect for main water supply and booster stations in dense urban areas.
  • Industrial Facilities: Used for raw water intake, process water supply, and cooling tower circulation where plant space is constrained.
  • High-Rise Buildings: The primary pump for supplying water to upper floors.
  • Fire-Fighting Systems: Often used as large-capacity main firewater pumps in commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Power Plants: Used for main condenser cooling water circulation.
