Product Introduction: The Series represents the pinnacle of safe chemical handling, engineered with a sealless magnetic drive design that offers 100% leak-proof performance. By eliminating the traditional mechanical shaft seal—the most common point of pump failure—this pump provides a hermetically sealed solution for transferring highly corrosive, toxic, pure, and expensive fluids. It is the definitive choice for applications where personnel safety, environmental protection, and process purity cannot be compromised.
Design Philosophy & Construction: The Series operates on the principle of a synchronous magnetic coupling, which allows power to be transmitted to the impeller without any physical penetration of the pump casing.
- The Magnetic Coupling: The design features two powerful magnet rings. The outer magnet ring is mounted on the drive shaft connected to the motor. The inner magnet ring is a single, sealed unit attached to the impeller.
- The Containment Shell: A solid, stationary barrier known as the containment shell is positioned between the two magnet rings. This shell completely isolates the pumped fluid from the outside environment. As the motor spins the outer magnets, their magnetic force passes through the containment shell, causing the inner magnets and the impeller to spin in perfect synchronization.
- Internal Bearings: With no mechanical seal, the impeller and inner magnet assembly are supported by internal sleeve bearings, which are lubricated and cooled by the fluid being pumped. This ensures smooth, stable operation. (Note: This pump design must not be run dry, as this will damage the internal bearings).
Key Features & Benefits:
- Absolutely Leak-Proof: The hermetically sealed, sealless design completely eliminates the risk of leaks, spills, and fugitive emissions, ensuring maximum safety and environmental compliance.
- Extremely Low Maintenance: With no mechanical seal to service, repair, or replace, the pump offers significantly reduced downtime and lower lifetime maintenance costs.
- Enhanced Reliability: The simple design with fewer potential failure points results in a much longer Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) compared to sealed pumps.
- Handles a Wide Range of Chemicals: Available in a variety of corrosion-resistant materials, including Stainless Steel, high-end alloys (Hastelloy), and with PFA/PTFE linings, to safely handle nearly any chemical.
- Preserves Fluid Purity: The sealless design prevents any contamination of high-purity fluids from seal flush systems or lubricants.
Common Applications:
Magnetic drive pumps are specified for the most critical and hazardous services:
- Highly Corrosive Chemical Transfer: Pumping concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, bromine, and other aggressive chemicals.
- Toxic and Hazardous Fluid Handling: Safely transferring cyanides, isocyanates, mercaptans, and other liquids that are dangerous to personnel.
- High-Purity and Semiconductor Applications: Circulating ultra-pure chemicals, solvents, and etchants where zero contamination is required.
- Transfer of Expensive Fluids: Handling precious metal solutions, pharmaceutical ingredients, and specialty chemicals where any product loss is costly.
- Flammable and Explosive Liquids: Safely pumping solvents, light hydrocarbons, and other explosive materials.
