Self-Priming Magnetic Drive Pump

Product Introduction The Series is an advanced chemical pump that masterfully combines the convenience of self-priming suction lift with the absolute safety of a sealless magnetic drive. This innovative design makes it possible to safely transfer hazardous and corrosive chemicals from sources below the pump level—such as underground tanks, sumps, and tanker trucks—without the risk of leaks or spills. It is the ultimate solution for applications that demand both operational flexibility and the highest level of environmental and personnel safety.

Design Philosophy & Construction The pump integrates two proven technologies into a single, seamless design to solve difficult fluid transfer challenges.

  • Self-Priming Action: The pump features a large, integrated priming chamber. During the initial priming cycle, the pump mixes the liquid in this chamber with air from the suction line, effectively acting as a liquid-ring pump to evacuate the air. Once all the air is purged and the suction line is full, the pump transitions to its normal mode.
  • Magnetic Drive Pumping: After priming, the pump operates as a true sealless magnetic drive pump. The motor’s power is transmitted through a containment shell via a magnetic coupling to the impeller. This ensures that the fluid is hermetically sealed within the pump, with no possibility of leakage through a traditional shaft seal.
  • Combined Benefit: This dual-action design allows operators to safely unload tanks from the top, lift chemicals out of sumps, and handle other suction-lift duties without ever exposing a mechanical seal to the hazardous fluid, which is a common point of failure and leakage in standard self-priming pumps.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Safe Suction-Lift Capability: The unique combination of self-priming and sealless design allows for the safe handling of hazardous chemicals from a negative suction head.
  • Eliminates Unloading Leaks: The perfect pump for top-unloading tanker trucks and rail cars, completely removing the risk of spills from failing seals or bottom valve connections.
  • No Foot Valve Needed: Simplifies piping installation and eliminates the maintenance and clogging issues associated with foot valves in chemical tanks.
  • Zero Leakage, Zero Emissions: The magnetic drive ensures absolute containment of toxic, corrosive, or volatile fluids and their vapors.
  • Enhanced Safety and Reliability: By removing both the foot valve and the mechanical seal, the two most common failure points in a suction-lift system are eliminated.

Common Applications The pump is the ideal choice for high-stakes applications requiring both suction lift and total containment:

  • Tanker Truck & Rail Car Unloading: Safely emptying concentrated acids, solvents, and other hazardous chemicals from top-mounted connections.
  • Underground Tank & Sump Pumping: Transferring chemical waste, contaminated groundwater, or leaked products from underground storage without risk.
  • Chemical Drum & Tote (IBC) Emptying: Safely and completely emptying containers from the top, minimizing operator exposure and environmental risk.
  • Difficult-to-Access Pits: Pumping out collection sumps in chemically aggressive environments where leaks cannot be tolerated and maintenance is difficult.
